My kids were born to live on a farm

With their love of chickens, cows, and horses, my kids were born to live on a farm. If Scott had his wish we would be living in Idaho near the Snake River on a huge plantation miles away from everyone. No Malls, no people, just livestock and plants. We went to the Sackett Family Reunion this weekend and they had horses their for the kids to ride. My kids loved it. McKenna went twice! I definately did not go on a ride. Too scarry for me. But they loved it. Its ok they will get another chance this weekend when the county fair gets here!

Christmas in July

My mom got the kids for Christmas this year a swing set. And the kids love it. After three days of putting it together. I am guessing three days total, but literally took a week, it is finally completed. The kids go on it every night and love to play in their fort. Thank you Yai Yai and Grandpa, we love it.

Welcome new member of the family!

Just kidding. Maggie had attacked one of Mason's chicken....Susan. We ended up getting him a new chicken. She is a bantam cochin. which in english means "miniature chicken" so no matter what Mason will always have a baby chicken. He is really excited about the new chickens. We bought two. One for Mason and he named his Dena. One for McKenna and she is calling hers Candy. Currently they are laying the tiniest little eggs, so cute. Cochin chickens are known for being pet chickens. So hopefully these little guys last for a while. The other chicken in this photo is one of the surviving rhode island red chicken and her name is Ruby.

Mason counting down

Mason cannot wait to go to preschool. He keeps asking, is it time yet? i let him know it is another month and after Labor Day. I bet when he starts he will not want to go, but this school he is going to is music based which is good for him and they do science class, and has pet frogs in the class. He seemed really excited when we stopped by to visit. Orientation is sometime this month....i wonder if we are ready for him to start? :)

The Funniest things Kinds Say

I have been waiting patiently for my moment to have my kids say something that i am like "What? Really". It finally happpened! We went to Farm Country this weekend to go and pet the farm animals. As i am pulling in the parking lot Mason says to me " Mom, did you know that cows do cool tricks?" "Oh yeah, like what?" Mason says, "They jump over the moon." i had a hard time not laughing so hard, and trying not to get his hopes up as i break the bubble. "Baby, they don't really jump over the moon, but they can possibly jump a bucket." I am such a mean mom. He has such an imagination that takes him where ever he wants to go. On fourth of july we were doing fire works and he says " Mommy, i saw a flying saucer and it came from outer space." Really? where does he get this stuff! But i LOVE it!!

Happy 4th Birthday Mason!!

My little man turned 4 last week end. I made him this bug cake. It turned out pretty cool. First he wanted a Diego cake, then he said he wanted lizzards, snakes and bugs cake. So that is what he ended up with. All his friends came to his party and he loved the robots he got as well as the chickens Merideth gave him. It was too cool. He starts preschool this year and cannot wait. i am nervous for him but we will see how he does.

Here are his loved baby chicken. Merideth gave him two big mommy chickens and one baby chicken. He wants to hold it all the time. we have not given it a name yet. that will be another post.

Decided to post some pics, so you can see how the children have grown. Its so funny sometimes as they get older and more curious. Mason is starting to ask a lot of questions. the other day he asked " Grandpa, what do turkey's eat?' grandpa says turkey food, then mason asked " what kind of turkey food?', grandpa says seeds, and wheat germ and all of these big words, then mason says " Oh he eats all of that, can i have one?" I am in the background shaking my head "NO". Mckenna is talking a lot too. Mason hit her and i told Mason to tell her he is sorry and he says sorry and McKenna says " that's ok, don't do it again". too cute.

Been a while.

so its been a while since my last post. Here are some things going on:

Mason has been playing t ball with his daddy coaching. The little kids has such a short attention span and still learning to play the game, that it is really fun to watch. He loves to hit the ball but is not a fan of fielding. so we will see if he will play next season or just wait till he gets older. He also got his tonsils out towards the end of his season and could not play a few games...i don't think he missed it that much. We are planning on putting him into swimming lessons and see how he likes that.

McKenna is just hanging out. She has had no new problems and her counts seem high beacuse no new bruising. She loves to follow Mason and do the same things as Mason. We may put her into tumbling next year. She loves her "front flips" with her daddy.

Maggie is getting bigger and still chewing on everything. some days i just wished she would just stay out side full time. then there are days where she is just a cuddle pup.

Scott is still working for the same firm and his cases and clientell are growing. He is working more hours but still able to spend time with the family. We are going camping the next two weekends and it should be really fun.

I am still working. We hired a nanny to take care of the kids. The kids love her and it makes it easier to get things done. She does not live with us, but is there while we are at work. I started up a diaper cake business but then decided i did not have the time for all that, so maybe reopen it again once i am done working full time. we will see.

Otherwise, we are great and enjoying life.

McKenna is turning 2!!

Little McKenna turns two this month. Boy how time flies. She seems to talk more than when Mason was this age, but i hear the second child learns faster anyway. She is so funny and so polite! When you give her something she says "Thank you, mommy. I love it" shrugging her shoulders at the same time. And I love it when she pouts. She stops in the middle of her pouting to make sure you are looking at her and then goes into this big fake cry. I can't help but laugh at her. Last night, she was crying and scott had asked her what was wrong and she said "I can't find Mason" (who was sleeping on the couch). She loves her brother very much. When Scott takes him fishing, McKenna is always worried "Where's Mason?". Here are some things about McKenna you may have not known.

Favorite Interests: Dora the Explorer, Diego, My Little Ponies, Princess
Favorite Toy: Anything that Mason is playing with currently. She also loves the wooden puzzles.
Favorite Song: Mary had a Little Lamb. she used to sing a Dora song all the time and now she sings this song.
Favorite Color: Has not really picked a favorite color yet. But i think she looks great in purple and pinks.
Favorite Food: burritos. but this kid is not picky and will eat anything: fish, brocoli, mash potatoes, ect.

She has many great features and i love my little blonde hair blue eyed baby. Happy Birthday McKenna!
