Busy October!!

Well with so much going on, i have not posted anything in a while and thought i should. So we took Mason and McKenna to a corn maze and they loved it. we of course went through the non haunted side (especially for me, i am such a scarredy cat). Mason saw other people jumping into the corn to scare their friends coming, so Scott took him to scare me and of course i pretended to be scared and he was very excited. It was really pitched dark and the only light we had was the full moon that night. Mason was so brave and walked in front by himself!

Later in the month we went to Wheeler Farm to do the traditional pick a pumpkin, go on a tractor pulled wagon ride and see the farm animals. McKenna enjoyed being surrounded by pumpkins. Mason had fun picking his pumpkin, but there were a lot to choose from so i helped him a little.

Finally, halloween came. Mason had been watching the Little Einsteins halloween episode to learn how to trick or treat and what to say when you get to the door. They sing "We are here to trick or treat, have a happy halloween". But when we got to the door he just lifted his candy bucket and said treat. It was funny and cute. Mason was a pirate and McKenna was a mermaid. McKenna just watched her brother with no complaints waiting for her turn next year!

It has been a busy month, but i love those busy months. It makes the holidays get here faster!

He was a great man!

On Wednesday August 20, 2008; Scott's dad passed away at his home. He was a great father and grandpa. He loved to fish, to do puzzles, watch MASH and other great movies, he loved being with his family and playing games. He was a funny and witty man. His laugh made me laugh even when his jokes didn't. He will be missed! The family is doing as well as can be expected. He is survived by his three children; Scott, Kristy, and Amber and 6 grandchildren; Brayden, Zander, Mason, Tyker, McKenna, and Remmington. The funeral is this friday August 29, 2008 at 11 am in Salt Lake City, UT. Instead of calling us with your regards and sentiments. Please post them instead. As he would always say when we were leaving "Toodles!"

A driving we will go!

Anytime that Mason gets the chance, he wants to drive the car like mommy and daddy. He sits down and puts his seat belt on and pushes a few buttons on the dash board turns the rear view mirror a little and then pretends he's driving with the steering wheel. It is a scream fest when we try to get him out and put him into his car seat. So we let him pretend while we are cleaning the car, but still let him know that it is very dangerous when we are not around.

Happy 4th of July

This year we tried something different. We usually go to Sugar House Park and watch the fireworks then wait in the traffic to get home. This year we went to my good friend Merideth's parents house and had a barb b q and did some of our own little fireworks. The kids all had fun. We gave them sparklers and let them run around with them. The kids were so new to the fire sticks that they had in thier hands that they just stood there looking at it. From Merideth's parents house you can see the stadium of fire fireworks, thanksgiving point fireworks, and other small parks fireworks. McKayla and Lexi sat on Scott's shoulders so that they could get a better look. It was a really fun and relaxing 4th. Thank you Briles Family!

Mom! I am trying to read!!

McKenna looked so peaceful looking at her book that i had to take this picture.

Miss McKenna!!

She is now four months and is a well behaved little lady. She smiles when you talk to her and is such a good baby.

She is getting to be so big and looks much like her daddy. She loves her daddy. He can make her laugh for a long time. Yesterday he threw her in the air and caught her and it normally freaks me out, but she was just laughing away. Then there are times when daddy loves her cute pouty face and makes a scarry noise just to see it. Just wait daddy she will use that pouty face sure enough later when she wants something!

She loves her brother. They are buddies. When i put her down for tummy time, she does not like it one bit, but big brother comes to the rescue and flips her back over. When she cries, Mason says "Nenna crying, Nenna crying" over and over until i go and do something about it. They are so cute together. He already has that big brother protector instinct. Its funny how they interact with each other and its something that you don't teach them, its just something that they learn on thier own.

Old MacDonald had a farm.

Sometimes i think my son was meant to grow up on a farm. He loves the animals, the fresh air, and of course all the running space he could ever want. My best friend's parents house is in Eagle mountain, Utah with alot of land to roam free. They have ducks and chickens and bees and fish. Mason's favorite part of being out there is the tractor. He loves it so much that it is a big fight to get him off. but it is peacefull and he enjoys it. It also gives me a break and i am all about going places where there is nothing he can get into.

Happy 2nd Birthday Mason!!

Mason loves the playground and loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the Little Einsteins so I decided to make his theme a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party at Mickey park(really veterans park in west jordan). It was fun. I made his cake based on the "Oh Toodles" character. It was hard but I did it all out of love. Then i ordered these mickey mouse ears for all of his little friends to wear at the party. It was cute and everyone had a lot of fun. McKenna enjoyed hanging out and watching her big brother play with all of his friends.

We gave Mason a bike for his birthday and he is still learning to pedal it. Everyday he comes home and says "Bike". But when he gets on it he means " I sit while you push".

Fun at Gardner Village

One of Scott's friends runs the petting zoo and horse rides at Gardner Village. So we decided to go there for a family outing last weekend. It was really fun and Mason had a great time. McKenna was not happy. Scott had put a bag of sunflower seeds in the stroller and of course it attracted all the goats to the stroller. I was trying to fend off the little horned animals from my little girl while Scott was dying laughing. They have a lot of fun animals there just roaming around you and it is really cheap to go. Too bad they don't have a pass we can buy and take Mason all summer long. They have donkey's, goats, lamas, pigs, ducks, chickens, sheep, and horses. Mason stuck his finger in the chicken house and they pecked his finger and he looked startled then he laughed and did it again. He really liked the horse ride most of all.

This is why you don't turn your head for one second!

We were going to give Mason a bath and thought to ourselves "oh he's ok" so we went around the corner to get him a towell and this is what we found when we came back.

An impatient little man with all his clothes on still (including his shoes) sitting in the bath tub with the water still running. I just had to laugh and be thankful it wasn't something seriously horrible.

New Look!

So I decided to have a different look to my blog. Its cute and i like it! so i guess i will have to start saying more so you will have to read more!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy mother's day to all of you mother's out there. Mason made me this gift with alot of help from his teacher at day care. The little dots are his fingers dipped in the paint. I loved it. He was like "here you go, ma" I thought it was the sweetest thing. I love homemade gifts! sorry i couldn't get my computer to flip the picture. I am so bad at picture taking and cameras!

Fun with ducks!

By our house is a little creek/river of water that is home to ducks, geese, goats, and sea gulls. It is made to allow people to feed the ducks without getting near the water. It has a fence that surrounds it and a car pull over section to where you can stand in front of your car and feed the ducks. we took Mason there to feed the ducks. I am glad we did, Mason would have loved to be in the river instead of feeding the ducks. such a daddy's boy when it comes to the outdoors. Mason did a good job learning to tear the bread then throw it to the ducks. The first time I gave him a slice of bread he threw the whole thing and it was funny to watch the duck try to peck at it to swallow it. But once Mason got the hang of it, the whole loaf of bread was gone in minutes. It was a very fun day for all of us. McKenna was asleep in the car.

sorry guys no pictures, just an update

I promise I will have some more pictures and updates. Right now I just don't have time. So uncomfortable and ready to be done being pregnant. I only have 3 more weeks to go. And some people say i look like i have a few months to go, but believe me it doesn't feel like it. I am still carrying high and she is constantly in my ribs. My ribs have never hurt so bad before with Mason. She is going to be a fiesty one. Still a lot of heart burn so I can imagine a lot of hair! Scott and I still can't agree on a name but if it was Mason's choice it would be Minnie. He loves Mickey and MInnie MOuse and the Little Einsteins. anytime we need to get something done we put on his show and let it run for about 30 minutes to an hour depending on what we are doing. Thank goodness for TIVO!
Mason hasn't quite got the concept that a new baby is coming so I am so scarred on his reactions. He loves other kids and loves to help the other baby in the house but at first he attacked the baby. I call it "love taps". But we will see how it goes. Hopefully he will adjust well and fast. And he is talking so much. I love hearing him trying to say new words. Its not the full word but at least you can kinda understand what he's saying. Then there are those days that he just keeps repeating a word and i am like " honey, i still don't understand what you are saying" and he repeats the word even louder as if i said i can't hear what he is saying. too funny.
Scott's firm is picking up and doing well. I think he is very happy with the decision he made to go out on his own. He even still gets to do the things he likes to do : go fishing, hunting, golfing, church ball, and playing with Mason.

Well I hope everyone and their families are doing well and I will be sure to post pictures of our new family member and post pregnancy pictures soon. We miss everyone!
